returned to the ruins with a bat net and poles.
There was an old "pond" behind the house
which still had a water supply from some
unknown source. We noted turtles (6-8" dia.
carapace) and a large bullfrog within.
We set up one mist net at the western
entrance to a 30 ft. cave. Jct then entered
the southern entrance and flushed the bats.
We managed to catch only 1 bat (Artibeus).

1400 we re-crossed the Rio and checked traps - no
catches. 1430 crossed back to re-check the bat
net - 1 more bat in the net and Jct flushed
another.
Total: 3 Artibeus (hirsutus).
1530 We decided to pull traps and search
for a more productive locality - perhaps at a
