En Route: La Paz, BCS to Sinaloa, México (Mazatlán)
to grab our sleeping bags and H2O bottle. (our
100 peso fare does not include a cabin (400 pesos).
We had a rather pleasant, relaxing evening
after the vessel finally got underway 1715.
We had a drink or 2 at the bar then
retired on the after-starboard bridge deck.
Pastless sleep with people everywhere. Windy,
moist nights.
18 July
En Route: La Paz, BCS to Mazatlán, Sinaloa, México.
0500 awoke - very moist - at least our deck wasn't
as wet as most others. We looked over the
rail for a couple hours, talked to other americans,
(there were very few), then at 0700 ate
breakfast in the very nice shipboard restaurant.
0900 the ferry docked in Mazatlán. (a fairly
smooth voyage in all). It took approximately
1½ hours to get all the passengers off of the
vessel - owing mainly to gross disorganization.
Finally at 1030 we were able to drive off of
the vessel. We headed south immediately to
the town of Villa Union where we drove northily
through the town of Siqueros to a point
some distance (to be determined later) north
of the town. We noted gopher mounds and
began to set out live traps. We were_
