Journal Hafner, M.S. 1977 16 July Migrino, 10 m., Baja California Sur, Mexico. 0530 awoke and drove to check traps. Heavy cloud cover... showers visible to the SE. 3.0 mi. SE (by road) Migrino, 80 m., Baja California Sur, Mexico. Results: 7 P. spinatus Success: 7/100 Migrino, 10 m., Baja California Sur, Mexico. 1 P. maniculatus success: 6/100 1 Neotoma sp. 4 Perognathus sp. These Perognathus may very well be P. dalquesti - or perhaps (if we are less fortunate), P. arenarius, There was a fairly heavy shower as we checked the latter set... even at 6:00 AM, the rain was a welcome relief from the heat. We kept only the Perognathus from Migrino and drove back to Cabo San Lucas via the dirt road. In Cabo San Lucas we bought supplies, got a wooden box for specimens and some screening to place around the drying skulls and skeletons. The cloud cover had broken-up by now and we headed back NE'y toward Santiago. We checked out the town of Santiago (especially looking for water) but found nothing of interest.
