4 mi. SE (by road) Migrino, 40 m., Baja California Sur,
Mexico.
15 July walked the beach in search of carcasses. I
found 2 Pelican carcasses from which I
kept the skulls. I later found the carcass
of what appeared to be a (least Tern?)
maybe not. Only one wing was still intact it
was grey on top with a black tip and white
beneath.
I neglected to mention that I found
the skeleton of a Turkey Vulture near
camp last night. It apparently had been shot
from atop a large Hecho nearby - I kept the
skull.
At the beach John & I noted a small
portion of the cranium of what seemed
to be a large, or seal lion. - the sagittal
and nuchal crests were well developed. We
did not keep the skull. We also picked-up (but
later discarded) 2 pup-fish remains.
1100 very warm (hot!!!); we could see a squall
brewing to the south so we picked-up our
gear and drove back to our camp 4 mi. S.
of Migrino. About 2 mi. N Migrino we saw
a large, fast snake cross the road. It
appeared to be beginning to shed but the
head and neck were obviously marked with
