Our motel was beautiful overlooking the Golfo and Isla San Marcos. We kayotyped beginning about 1400 and, after skinning the animals, we set out to trap pocket mice. We drove to a locality: 3 km. S Santa Rosalia town, Baja California Sur, México. The site was in a sandy wash leading from a Mesquite-cholla canyon to the Golfo. We set out 2 lines of 50 traps each - 1 in the desert flats and 1 in the rocky canyon sides. We returned to the van and found ourselves quite stuck in deep sand. After about
