noted signs of gophers, so we began to set-out
MacAbee traps. The soil was extremely powdery
and the sun quite hot, making a very
uncomfortable time. The gophers, as it
turned out we very sparse. John finally
captured (both in Mac Abees):

We finally decided to move to a better
locality (for Gophers) tomorrow. We began
to set out sherman traps according to
the following map:

A total of 150 traps - line (1) was in the sandy
Mesquite wash; line (2) was in the rocks
of a small hill (around which the road
skirts) and line (3) was in the desert flats.
