P. arenarius. Since it is still cool in the Am,
we elected to drive to the mountains before preparing the specimens. We headed S on Hwy 5 and reached El Chinero about
0800. We filled-up on gas - (the old-fashioned type of pump) pesos/liter, then drove west on the dirt road from El Chinero to Valle de la Trinidad. We ascended over San Matias Pass (about 3200 ft. elev.) around 1000 hours and passed the tiny village of San Matias.
