It clouded up around sunset and we heard thunder all through the night. A wind picked up around 3AM and very soon after it began to sprinkle. The rain stopped within minutes and we were able to relax.
0530 Arose and broke-camp. Began to rain as we drove to check traps. Rain on-and-off all AM.

We saw 2 bats again foraging near a large Mesquite tree on line 2. The D.merriami were much smaller and lighter in color than those of the Mojave Desert. We kept a sample of D.merriami and all other specimens. The pocket mice are probably all penicillatus - we had looked for baileyi and/or
