Baja California, México. to El Faro Pure Dunes Sand Dunes N 2 July (cont) (4) Old Shack -> Vegetated Dunes Sign here reads: 90 km to Mexicali 100 km to San Felipe Barren, Rocky Hills harrea flats Rocky Hills (2) Rocky Hills Larrea wash Camp 1 in. = 1/4 mi. Line 1 - Larrea wash - sparse, rocky. Line 2 - harrea flats - occasional Mesquite tree. Line 3 - Vegetated, stable dunes Line 4 - Sparse, drifting dunes. We noted several small bats (Pipistrellis?) foraging overhead as we set line # 2. We drove back to camp and, after dinner, retired early. Very warm, muggy night -- slept w/o a bag.
