Journal Haher, M.S. 1977 6 mi. N, 31 mi. W Hiko, 4800 ft. Lincoln Co. Nevada 24 March (cont.) and off rain and snow; again, little is on the ground. Weather seems to be coming from the SW. 1630 arrive at above locality. No moisture on ground. Begins to rain as we set up the tent (borrowed from JL Patton). Camp is located on valley floor at trap line #1. Quite cool (ca. 40° F). I managed to set out 100 Museum specials before the "moisture" got to be too much. (part rain, part snow.) All traps are on the west half of line #1. Few animal signs noted. 1900 ate dinner and relaxed. light snowfall. 2030 walked trap line - no captures — snowfall still quite light. 2100 retired.—cloudy, wind (ca. 10 MPH) from SW. No moon yet visible. Awoke occasionally through night to knock snow from top of tent. 6 mi. N, 31 mi. W Hiko, 4800 ft. Lincoln Co. Nevada. 25 March 0630 awoke to snow-covered country-side. Snow ~ 1"-2" deep in places. (2° C) Moderate Cloud cover and light breeze from NW. Checked traps - no captures - mort'traps sprung. 0830 - partial sunlight through heavy clouds.
