Journal Haber, M.S. 1976 Sagehen Creek, 3 mi. NW Hobart Hills, Nevada Co., California Captured no Microtus in grasslands. 1400 Drove via Shererville and Vinton to a point 1.5 mi. N Chilcot, 5120 ft. Plumas Co. Set out 200 Sherman's and approximately 110 Musco Specials in Antennia tridentata, Chrysothamnus habitat. Fine, cold windblown sand. Drove back to Sagehen Creek Station, Had dinner, then returned to the Chilcot locality. Very Cool night. Frost ca. 25° low. Checked traps: Sherman (Muso) 7 D. ordii 5 Perognathus parvus 5 M. megacephalus 11 P. maniculatus (live) 4 Antennia minimus Snap traps 3 D. ordii 1 D. panamintinus 1 P. parvus 18 P. maniculatus 2 R. megalotis Returned to Sagehen creek Station and 1400 departed via Truckee and Hwy 80 for Berkeley. Very enjoyable trip - beautiful weather. Rodent densities low at Sagehen and rather high at desert (N. Chilcot) locality.
