Journal Hafner, U.S. 1976 6 mi. N, 31 mi. W Hiko, 4800 ft., Lincoln Co., Nevada 18 September (cont) comfortable in the shade - scattered clouds. (ca. 80° F). 1700 Stretched wire and prepared to set traps. Set 358 Museum Specials and 4 live traps as per map: Dry lake small dry lake areas 1930 finished setting as darkness came. Still very comfortable (ca. 65° F). 2030 slept. Set alarm for 0100. I neglected to mention that I found 2 Sherman traps near the SE line today. Probably remain from the "ill-fated" March 1975 trip. One mummified Micro.. 6 mi. N, 31 mi. W Hiko, 4800 ft. Lincoln Co., Nevada 19 September 0100 arose to check traps. (night check). Results: NW line: 6 Microdipodops (1 live) 2 Dipodomys 1 Perognathus parvus 1 Perognathus longimembris SW line: 3 Micros. (1 live) 1 Dipodomys 2 P. longimembris (released) SE line: 1 Microdipodops
