Journal Hafuer, M.S. 1976 6 mi. N, 31 mi. W Hiko, 4800 ft., Lincoln Co., Nevada 17 September cont Dry Lake Each set has 2 traps - sets numbered 0 -> 50 (54) ca. 5 meters apart. 108 Museum Specials (NE set) " (SE set). Hwy 25 have quite alot of water. Some annuals are in bloom. 0015 slept. - Moon rose ca. 0400. Calm, cool evening. 6 mi. N, 31 mi. W Hiko, 4800 ft., Lincoln Co., Nevada 18 September 0700 arose and checked traps. Results: 5 M. megacephalus 1 H. pallidus 2 D. ordii (?) 1 D. panamintinus (?) The large Kangaroo Rat (presumably panamintinus) was quite scrotal. (May be large D. ordii). The Micros were also in Reproductive condition as evidenced by enlarge tests - in one case obviously scrotal. 0800 I froze the animals for later processing and attempted to dig-up a Micro burrow. I could not locate the burrows of any of the animals I trapped. I did manage to dig-up the system of 1 Micro - but I don't know
