Our hopes were to catch P. penicillatus pricei and P. p. penicillatus in contact here. We couldn't locate habitat suitable for trapping (do to cotton fields, etc.) and because of the late hour and foul weather, no traps were set. We camped off a farm road amidst pouring rain.

0700 awoke—drove into town where we had breakfast and put-up animals. Very pleasant clear day considering the foul weather last night.
1400 drove to get a cash advance on my Mastercharge at a local bank. John xeroxed and mailed a manuscript to S. Williams at Texas Tech.
1600 bought groceries and drove back to Red Mtn. west of town. We made camp, took and nap, then drove to set traps.
Trapping localities:
① 2.6 mi. S, 8.5 mi. W Deming, 4400 ft.
