#14 - mod. slope. ca. 2 M from road cut. Burrow located near (beneath) old root system of rotted tree (little remains above ground). Mosses on sub-stratum. Fairly sparse veg. Few Plant @ very few Plant B), very few Bar (G). Legume Plant (I) 2 m from hole (1 plant only). Small Pines sp. and 1 small Juniperus sp. 10 M away - no trees nearby. Burrow depth 100 mm.
#22 - Sharp slope ca. 30 M from road cut. Sparse veg. Very few Plant A) and B). Much leaf and needle litter. Several small pines (to 1.5 M) nearby hole. Large pines and oaks within 15 M. Burrow depth: 100 mm. Very sparse annual cover.
#21 - very sharp slope. Very little ground veg. Much ca. 100 mm tall leaf and needle litter. Very small (and few) Oak seedlings nearby. Few small pines (to 3 M) and Oaks (to 1 M) with 5 M radius - large Pines and Oaks beyond. Burrow depth ca 200 mm... Few small ferns and mushrooms in open area.
#13 - level area - open meadow 4 M from road cut. Nearest large trees Oaks and Pines ca. 15 M away. sparse veg: few Plant A-B). Occasional very small Pine seedling ca. 0.5 M tall. Mod. sparse ground cover (annual grasses). Burrow depth ca. 120 mm.
