By 1800 we had captured 12 Thomonys so we left all but 6 traps and drove into Capitan for dinner. The sky was still quite overcast - no rain since ~1600. Called Darcy from Capitan - all's well. 1930 Departed Capitan via Hwy 48 North to the Capitan Pass turnoff. Drove Southeast to the locality where we had previously attempted to trap ruidosae. Set out 7 traps in 2 sets:
Exact locality = 6.5 mi. N, 6.7 mi. E Capitan, 6900 ft.
2300 Still somewhat overcast - moderate wind - no moon yet. Thus far we have kangotypically identified animals as follows:
