Journal Hahner, Ms. 1976 4 August (cait) Ruidoso, Lincoln Co., New Mexico, ~6000 ft. northeast on Hwy 70-82. The Organ Mtns. were quite scenic on the eastern side. We were stopped for about 45 minutes at an Army road block to wait for the firing of a missile at the White Sands test Range. Nothing too spectacular.... Drove via Alamogordo and Tularosa to a point approximately 8 mi. SW of Ruidoso. At this locality we set 2 sets (4 traps) of gopher traps (live catch). We then set traps at approximately 8 mi. intervals along Hwy 70 to a point approx. 2 mi. E of Glencoe. We returned to Ruidoso and drove NE to Alto where we again set 4 gopher traps. Hwy 37 Alto x x=x=gopher trapping Ruidosox localities Hwy 380 10 mi. Glencoe X Hwy 70 Tando North 1800 we drove further north of Alto in hopes of setting traps near Nogal - the road west of Angus was pretty bad so we returned to Ruidoso to relax. We ate dinner (Pizza and beer) then began checking traps. There were no captures at any of the localities save the one SW of Ruidoso.
