California. 1 Onychomys torridus 2 Dipodomys nitratoides (1 dead) 4 Dipodomys heermanni (1 dead) Habitat: Sandy wash east of road. Fairly dense, large Ephedra (1.5 H.) Much "Bunch grass" Moderate annual ground cover . loose, sandy soil (see photo) 2 Carrizo Plain, 16.7 mi W Taft (kem Co.), San Luis Obispo Co., California, 2000 ft. No Captures Habitat: In valley floor. Well spaced, small (0.5 H) A. leutiformis . Some few (very small) Suaeda fruticosa. Much "dead" brush. Patchy open areas of hard-pack sand. Sparse, low annual cover. 3 Carrizo Plain, 7.2 mi. E, (10 mi. S. Simuler,San Luis Obispo Co., California, 2000 ft. No Captures Habitat: Many small Happlepappus and small A. leutiformis. (located ~200 M from dry lake bed) only 1 plant of A. canescans seen. Nearly solid cover of sparse to moderately dense annual vegetation -> Burrows observed.
