Habitat: Sandy wash east of road. Fairly dense,
large Ephedra (1.5 H.) Much "Bunch grass" Moderate
annual ground cover . loose, sandy soil (see photo)

Obispo Co., California, 2000 ft.
No Captures
Habitat: In valley floor. Well spaced, small
(0.5 H) A. leutiformis . Some few (very small)
Suaeda fruticosa. Much "dead" brush. Patchy
open areas of hard-pack sand. Sparse, low
annual cover.

Habitat: Many small Happlepappus and small
A. leutiformis. (located ~200 M from dry lake bed)
only 1 plant of A. canescans seen. Nearly solid
cover of sparse to moderately dense annual
vegetation -> Burrows observed.
