I turned S and drove about 0.3 mi. along the canal where I set 60 traps along a fence to the E of the canal. 1600 returned to Taft, cleaned-up. Rain much of the night. 11 April Taft, 800 ft., Kern Co., California 0700 Emily woke us up. S (and Barron) drove to check the traps. 1.5 mi. E, 3 mi. N Taft, 600 ft., Kern Co., California Habitat: fairly lush and dense A. canescens and flowering Hymenoclea salsole. Light, grassy cover with some open areas; Gravelly soil. 2 A. nelsoni 2 D. nitratoides 1 P. maniculatus 1.5 mi. E, 1.2 mi. S Tupyman, 400 ft., Kern Co., Calif. Habitat: Sparse A. canescens with very few A. lentiformis. Packed, fine, powdery sand. Occasional patches covered with grasses (over)
