Journal Hefner, M.S. 1976 10 mi. E, 15 mi. N Warm Springs, 6000 ft., Nye Co., Nevada. and Tetradymia; there were however occasional large patches of pure [illegible] Chryso. and Tetra- with few or no Artemisia. In these patches we noticed much Dipodomys and Thomomys evidence. The Artemisia ~0.7M tall. community was quite dense. Soil in both areas was fine, powdery sand (actually more "dirt" than "sand") Set out snaps and live traps as below: 100 live 50 live 60 live 100 live sandy pass 80 snaps live 155 snaps 6 toy to Warm Springs N Total traps = 603 Very threatening weather - light to moderate breeze now from the SE. Overcast and cold night. 27 March (Cont) 8 March 10 mi. E, 15 mi. N Warm Springs, 6000 ft., Nye Co., Nevada. 0500 arose to check traps. Much dew had settled during the night - no rain or snow. Results: S side of road: 75 P. maniculatus live traps 2 P. longimembris 2 M. megacephalus (captured in almost pure Artemisia) 1 M. pallidus (captured in Chryso.) 1 D. ordii ( " " " ) N side of road: 1 M. megacephalus 2 M. pallidus
