0700 arose. Very windy night - not too cold (~40°F).
Checked traps with following results:

5 Peromyscus maniculatus
saw: 1 Roadrunner cross Hwy 46. (W -> E)
(2) Kern River, 4.0 mi. E Oildale, Kern Co., California,
60 500 ft.

(3) Caliente Creek Wash, 8.3 mi. E, 1.4 mi. S
Edison, Kern Co., California, 1,000 ft.

4 Dipodomys heermanni
Each of 2 traps had 2 Peromyscus inside. (ad. djw.)
(4) S. 2 mi. N, 1.5 mi. W Mettler, Kern Co., California
300 ft.

1200 left last locality and drove north on Hwy 99
via Fresno, Hwy 152, 580 and 680 to Pleasant
Hill. Brought back 10 live and 1 dead
Dipo. for study. Very successful trip.
