Journal Hoyner, M.S. 1975 Hastings Natural History Reservation, 14 mi. SE Carmel Valley, Monterey Co., 1700 ft., California 22 November 0700 arose - had French Toast and sausage then checked Chaparral line. Luiz Baptista and his class (~8 people) from Occidental College arrived late last evening on a "Natural History Field Trip". His class went along with me to check my set. (Of course) I had poor results: 1 Reithrodontomy megalotis 1 Peromyscus maniculatus Jee Reithro was deep into the chaparral. The P. maniculatus was ~ 10 m from the Chaparral - Grassland interface. 0900 checked gopher traps: 1 Thommys bottra (large ♂) [no captures in the creek set]. Put up skins in the A.M. listened to Cal-Stanford game in early P.M. Set out 12 "Young" live squirrel traps near fallen logs by barn (saw much S. beechyi activity). 1600 checked squirrel traps - no captures. Checked gopher traps - no captures. 1700 - JVP and a few other people and I set out 3 mist nets over a small water hole near camp. Immediately after sunset
