Journal Noggin, m.s. 1975 4100 ft. 26 mi. W., 14 mi. N. Lovelock, Pershing Co. Nevada 4 September (cont) led to the West (about 0.5 mi. from camp.) The habitat was mainly Atriplex with occasional shallow sandy washes. Many gravelly areas. Didn't look too good for Microdipodops but the overheated car couldn't be pushed much further today. We set out all 210 traps in several lines from camp. Had hot-dogs and beer for dinner. Very nice evening. Warm with a light NE'ly breeze. We noted several leopard and fence-tail lizards in the late afternoon. 5 September 26 mi. W., 14 mi. N. Lovelock, Pershing Co. Nevada. 0630 arose and checked traps: 6 Dipodomys microps 3 D. merriami 3 Microdipodops megacephalus 8 Perognathus longimembris 2 Onychomys (torridus)? 1 Ammospermophilus leucurus We kept the micros., 2 P.l., and 1 o.t. (+ the Ammo.). 0830 headed back towards Lovelock. The car had no difficulty climbing the mountain, and we ate breakfast at the top. We couldn't back to Lovelock as we entered the town we noted a Red-tailed Hawk and a loggerhead
