Journal Hefner, m.s. 1975 Various locales around Pyramid Lake, Washoe Co., Nevada September We proceeded north to the next locality: (unt) 9.4 mi. N (by road) of Sutcliffe, Washoe Co., Nevada Results: 4 D. panamintinus 3 D. ordii Habitat of fine sandy soil, occasionally packed. Approximately 0.2 mi. from lake shore. Sparse Sarcobatus. Drive north to last locality: 13.6 mi. (by road) N. Sutcliffe, Washoe Co., Nevada Results: 4 D. panamintinus 4 D. merriami 1 Spolefoot toad (Scaphiopus) Habitat was fine sand with occasional packed areas. Artemisia and Sarcobatus moderately dense in places. Approximately, 0.5 mi. from lake. As the purpose of this trip was to catch microdipods, we were rather disappointed. We did catch the one specimen north of Nixon. We released all animals except the micro., Ammo., and toad. We drove south towards Sutcliffe after eating a little breakfast at the last locality. 10:00 sighted a Prairie Falcon approximately 9 mi. N. Sutcliffe circling over the road.
