Journal Hafner, M.S. 1975 27 March [cont'] 5 mi. SW. Sutcliffe, Washoe Co., Nevada. Results: 2 Dipodomys sp. 3 M. pallidus (1 dead) No snow had fallen at this locality, but the night was apparently very cold. A cold wind blew while we checked traps. 1500 left Yerington S. on Hwy 3 to Hwy 22. Then SW to Bridgeport, California, where we ate lunch. Due to the unusual amount of snow, we decided to attempt one night of trapping in the Mojave Desert. We drove south on US 395, but it was snowing near Johannesburg, California, so we continued driving all night and arrived in Albuquerque ~10:00 AM 28 March. 28 March Albuquerque, San Bernalillo Co., New Mexico. I left here at 10:30 and drove W on US 66 arriving L.A. 11:30 Pacific time. A long, cold, not too successful venture. Mileage at Albuquerque = 73756.9
