Journal Hayden, W.S. 1975 31 mi. NW. of Reno, near dry lake, Lincoln Co. Nevada spacing etc. where each microdipodops was captured. Most Micro's captured in the southern-most line (furthest from the lake) had the dark-tipped tail of M. megacephalus and most specimens caught near the lake (in the fine sand) had light-tipped tails of M. pallidus. E.R. Hall had found hybrids here years ago, so J.C.H. was hoping to do karyotypic analysis of these (hybrids?). A heavy hail and rain storm moved in while we checked traps making it rather cold and uncomfortable. 1200 - returned to camp in hills to find approximately 4" of snow covering camp. We couldn't drive the van along the steep road so we hiked in to the camp and carried out our gear. [The "parking gear" on the van went out at this point] We drove west on Hwy 25, and ate breakfast in Warm Springs. Occasional hail showers fell all afternoon. 1300 - Continued West on Hwy 6 through Tonopah Nevada - snowing quite heavily there. Turned N. on Hwy 95 through
