"Journal" Hager, M.S. 1975 23 March Vicinity of Caliente, Lincoln Co., Nevada [cont] on U.S. 93rd Dry Lake Valley, 21 mi. W. Pecos, Lincoln Co. Nevada. Set 200 traps near Corral & chute on W. side of Northernmost Dry Lake. Mostly low Atriplex and dry sand. Returned to Hwy 93 and proceeded W. to Hiko, Nevada. At intersection of New. Hwy 25 and 38 shot Beechey Ground Squirrel (Spermophilus beechii? - actually Variagatus? 4 mi. South Hiko.) 1500 - Proceeded North on 38 to 1 mi. South Hiko where we shot a Road-Runner (Geococcyx) from road. Sighted a second Road-Runner. Noted several Sylvilagus and Ammospermophilus alongside road. Returned to Hwy 25 and drove W. to just beyond (W.) Coyote Summit. We then turned N. on dirt road toward Temperide, Nevada. Stopped approximately 1 mi. N. of Hwy 25 and made camp where we set 300 traps in 3 lines as follows: [illegible]
