Journal Hofner, Ms. 1975 28 March (cont.) Albuquerque, Bernalillo Co., New Mexico we finished preparing our field equipment, loaded the van and finally got to bed ~ 2300. 21 March Albuquerque, Bernalillo Co., New Mexico 0300 - arose and departed Albuquerque heading West on US. 40 (mileage 70730.2) then north through Shiprock, N.M. to the S.W. corner of Colorado. Rain and occasional snow most of the way. There were numerous beautiful rocky buttes in the NW corner of New Mexico. These buttes arose very suddenly from the otherwise flat land. 0900 - 5 mi. W. La Sal Junction, Utah J.C. Hofner collected road kill of Flammulated Owl - skull only. We headed west toward Provo, Utah. 1400 - 15 mi. S.E. Provo, Utah - sighted 2 adult Bald Eagles and several mule deer near US 6-50. Several sightings of Turbignious Hawks, Rough- legged Hawks, and Marsh Hawks through- out Utah this day. 1415 - Arrived Provo, Utah, picked up supplies and J.C.H. called Paul Adams
