Journal Laguer, M.S. 1975 2 mi. E. Seales Station, 9 mi. NNE of Johannesburg, San Bernardino Co., California 3200 ft. (Camp) 21 February Dacey Barron, John Wells and I left L.A. at 1830 and arrived at this location ~2100. [We used the school van.] There was a 3/4 moon. Temp. approximately 30°F with a moderate NE'ly wind. We set out 194 live traps in 4 lines east of camp. The wind died down through the night. 22 February 2 mi. E. Seales Station, 9 mi. NNE of Johannesburg, San Bernardino Co., 3200 ft. California Sunrise approximately 06:30 - very gentle SE'ly breeze, ~32°F. I arose 0700 and John and Dacey arose an hour later. We checked traps, but left them out in hopes of catching Ammospermophilus for Dave's project. Trapping Results: 3 Ammospermophilus leucurus 7 Perognathus formosus [1 dead ♀] 3½ Onychomys torridus [1 dead] 9 Dipodomys penicillatus [5♂,4♀] 7 Dipodomys merriami [5♂,2♀] Success = 29/194 = 15%
