Journal Hafner, M.S. 1975 9 mi. E. of Boron, San Bernardino Co., 2500 ft. California 19 January 0700 We arose (27° F) and checked traps with following results: 2 Dipodomys merriami (2♀♀) 1 Ammosphephilus leucurus Success = .3/294 ÷ < 1% We layed out in the sun for awhile – the day was beautiful. 1100 we left for L.A. This was a great trip, even though catches were poor. 24 January 2 mi. E. Searles Station, 9 mi. NNE Johannesburg, San Bernardino Co. California, 3200 ft. “Camp 1” I drove up (with Barron) early in the day in order to set traps before Sunset. [Darcy and Shetechen drove up later]. I set 194 live and 100 snaps along Trona Rd near the rocky outcropping near the floor of the Valley. The weather was beautiful; clear ~75° F. Still. The nearly full moon arose approx. 1500. I noticed several lizards and numerous Meloid (?) beetles. 1700 - I made camp in the hills east of Trona Rd. It began to cool off quickly after sunset (~1730). I played bagpipes and talked with Barron until Darcy and Shetechen
