The Boron camp to check the snap-traps.
[ I didn't mention that the traps at
camp I had been bothered by a
predator, the tracks appeared to be
those of a kit fox (Uroptes macrotis). Small
amounts of urine (musky) were found on
top of several traps ]. At Boron
Camp (11.8 mi E. of Boron) we caught
the following:

1 Onychomys torridus
1/100 = 19%
1130 we drove home to L.A. The Dipos
from Camp I will be used in Behavioral
and seed caching studies. I had hoped
to get animals from Boron for Morpho-
metric studies, but caught none [ even
though there was occasional Dipodomys
activity at this locality ].
