"Journal" Wagner, M.S. 1975 2 mi. E. Searles Station, 9 mi NNE of Johannesburg, San Bernardino Co., California 3200 ft. "Camp 1" 11 January (cont.) Locality was more dense with numerous patches of greenery (very low, however). There was much rodent activity evidenced by much surface diggings. The evening was very cold (< 30° F) and it remained calm all night. Clear sky. 12 January 2 mi. E. Searles Station, 9 mi NNE of Johannesburg, San Bernardino Co., California 3200 ft. "Camp 1" We arose ~ 0400 and checked the live traps at this locality with the following results: 5 Dipodomys panamintinus (4 ♂♂, 1 ♀) [all ♂♂ scrotal, ♀ vagina extremely swollen [wts. in] 2 D. merriami (1 ♂, 1 ♀) [♂ scrotal, ♀ vag. closed] [wts. in lab. data] 7/200 = 3.5% success. 1 Dipodomys panamintinus escaped = 8 total It was recorded as to whether an animal was captured near a bush or in the open [in lab. data]. 0900 We broke camp and drove to
