11 January 2 mi. E. Searles Station, 9 mi. NNE of Johannesburg, San Bernardino Co., California,
3200 ft. "Camp 1"
We left L.A at ~11:30 with Barry Lotz and arrived at the Boron locality ~2PM (11.8 mi. E Boron).
We walked around for awhile. (Barry found an old Tortoise shell which still had skeleton in, intact excepting skull).
There was occasional short annual vegetation, but not alot. One Dipso burrow system (which I photographed) was approximately 6 meters in diameter with numerous small diggings covering the entire area (surface cooles?). There were no seeds found in any of the small holes examined. The air was cool (~60° F) and there was no clouds nor wind. We set out 100 Snap traps
1600 we left this site and drove north on US. 395 to "Camp 1". We set out 200 Live traps on the East side of Johnson Trona Road near the above locality. Sunset was approximately 1730 at which time we made camp, ate, and went to bed. The vegetation in this
