California - 4000 ft. 2 traps in this locality had 2 P.M. in them, in one case both were alive, in the other case, an ad. had eaten the entire skull contents of a juvenile. Success = 27/75 = 38% (2) 0.3 mi. NE. Tom Sawyer Lake, 0.9 mi. W Hwy 58, 3 mi. NW Tehachapi, Kern Co., Calif- or nia , ~4000 ft [T 32 S R 32 E, SE 1/4 sec 12] 8 Peromyscus maniculatus 3 Reithrodonmys megalotis [2 R.M. in one trap, one dead; other had] eaten skin off head and eyeballs. Success = 11/75 = 14% (3) Sand Canyon, 0.4 mi. N. Hwy 58, 2.9 mi. E x S of Monolith, Kern Co. California, 3949 ft. 14+13 Dipodomys panamintinus (1 dead) 15 Peromyscus maniculatus The P.M. were very large. Upon returning the Dipodomys to the lab. it was seen that the ♀♀ were scrotal, but the ♀♀ showed no signs of reproductive activity. These D.p. were monitored 10 Nov.- 17 Nov. We ate breakfast at Mojave and headed home. Dave came to L.A. with us -headed N. ~ 6:00 PM.
