0730 While at the last trapping site, Dave and
I walked over to a rather large canyon
where we had spotted a large, adult
Red-tailed Hawk (Buteo). We found 5
(hawk) pellets, one especially large (~100 mm.)
We drove around during the day
searching for suitable Dipodomys habitat.
In the P.M. we hiked in the large
canyons N. of camp. We noted several (5)
Red-tails in the sky over us (frequently
screaming.)
1500 - we began setting traps. Our
first set was 75 traps on Woodford-Tehachapi
