[T32S, R32E, E1/2 sec. 24] 1 Reithrodontomys megalotis (50 traps) (3) 0.3 mi. N.E. Tom Sawyer Lake, 0.9 mi W. Hwy 58, 3 mi. NW Tehachapi, 4000 ft [T32S, R32E, SE 1/4 sec 12] 2 Perognathus californicus 5 Peromyscus maniculatus - saw several Sylvilagus audoboni (91 Traps) 0730 While at the last trapping site, Dave and I walked over to a rather large canyon where we had spotted a large, adult Red-tailed Hawk (Buteo). We found 5 (hawk) pellets, one especially large (~100 mm.) We drove around during the day searching for suitable Dipodomys habitat. In the P.M. we hiked in the large canyons N. of camp. We noted several (5) Red-tails in the sky over us (frequently screaming.) 1500 - we began setting traps. Our first set was 75 traps on Woodford-Tehachapi
