Journal Hagen, M.S. 1974 20 October (cont) 11.8 mi E. Brown San Bernardino Co., 3500 ft. California Results: 10 D. merriami 7♀♀ , 3 ♂♂ 1 Ammospermophilus leucurus 3 P. longimembris Success = 14/ ∼ 7% 197 Last night (18-19 Oct.) we caught only 1 D. merriami in the "McNeil Type" traps. Last night (19-20 Oct.) we caught no D. merriami in McNeil type traps. (I believe the kit fox visited each trap and removed any captured animal). The A.L. was captured in the Larrea association as were 2 of the P. longimembris. One P. longimembris was semi-torpid; The night was rather cold. 1000- We collected traps and headed for L.A. All D. merriami were taken to the lab for study. 8 November Vicinity of Tehachapi, Kern Co. California ~ 4000 ft. Darcely, Barron and I left L.A. ~ 1830 and met Dave near Sand Canyon ~ 2030.
