Longinembus was caught at the other locale and not here) might support the thought that D. meriamii exists as the only Dipos. in the other locality.
0830 we headed west toward Tehachapi Pass where we had arranged to meet David and Diane. On our way, we stopped to look at California City,... not too impressed. About 1 mile W. of Randsburg we saw a lone Chicken along the roadside.
1105 Met David and Diane (who had brought along Nancy Walker and Barry Lotz). We proceeded slowly from Sand Canyon (see 17 July 1974) through Tehachapi into Cummings Valley, looking all the way for Dipos longus habitat - we noted some areas near the Cement Factory at Monolith and some other suitable locality about 2 miles west of Tehachapi toward Cummings Valley. We will probably trap out these areas at a later date.
