grid with traps ~ 10 feet apart and
~ 10 meters between rows. We chose
an area approximately 400 M. Southly
of the area in which we trapped last
night - the shrubs and small grasses
were ~ 50% denser in this area and
the soil was sandy, but somewhat
carser than last night's locality.
(We changed localities because 1) we
had trapped the first locality only
last night and 2) we hoped to get a
larger % of M. pallidus from this
new area for John's study.
1730 - We proceeded toward the Alkali
Lake area to set the remaining traps.
1830 - We noted 3 Pronghorned Antelope
(Antilocapra), all does, crossing the
road ~ 7 mi. NE of Fletcher, Nevada. The
antelope stopped approx 300 m from the
can allowing us to photograph them. They
all appeared to be adults in good
health.
