Journal (see 27 September 1974 for actual locality) 9 mi. N.E. Johannesburg in valley 10 mi. N. of Cuttebale Lake San Bernardino Co. 3200' California Trapping success: 69/190 = 36% 0900 We drove into Johannesburg to replenish ice supply, and then drove to "Camp 1" (see below for exact locality). We camped about 200 meters from the main road, approx. 1/2 mile South of the rocky knoll which lies to the SE of the road: (see map) The day was very warm (and we napped for awhile to stay out of the heat) We camped beneath a large Joshua, (Yucca brevifolia), which contained what appeared to be a woodpecker's nest. (This should be looked into in the spring.)
