30 August (see 27 September 1974 for actual locality)
9 mi. NE of Johannesburg, in valley
10 mi. N. of Cutteback Lake, San Bernardino
Co., 3200', California (camp 2).
We arrived here ~ 2130. Full
moon, calm, very warm evening. We
set out 190 live traps on the
valley floor. There was much
evidence of washing due to flash
floods (in the spring). Our attempt
is to capture D. merriami which live
in allopatry from D. panamintius -
previous trapping in this locality
indicate this is the case.
