Hefner, m.s 1974 Journal 12 July 9.5 mi. N. Johannesburg, 1 mi E of Trona Rd. San Bernardino Co. 3200' California 2100 - Arrived here where we met David and Diane Hefner. Our purpose is to live-catch "pure" D. paramitinus for chromosome comparison with "pure" D. heermanni from near Buherfield. We will also take back several D. merrisoni and compare their activity periods with those of D.P. to see if there is a temporal split between the activity periods of these two sympatric species. Traps were set on the E side of Trona Road as follows: N Trona Rd. x = traps ~100 xx xxxxxxx x x -94 dirt roads: Johannesburg 9.5 mi. camp Upon return to camp we had barbecued "shis-ka-bob" and wine. Very still, warm night. Clear.
