beers. They had lived their entire lives
in the Yerington area and were full
of "facts" as to local wildlife. We asked
a lot of questions and got a few interesting
answers.
We finished setting out traps soon
after sunset (9:00 P.M. approx.). We agreed to
check traps at 12:30 in the morning
and if we had captured at least 10
Microdipodops pallidus we would head
home.

Mason Valley, 27 km. S., 8 km. E Yerington,
1525 m., Lyon Co., Nevada.
We arose at 12:30 in the morning (0030).
The air was warm and calm. We captured
exactly 10 Microdipodops pallidus and
approx. 10 Dipodomys microps and
approx. 20 Perognathus longimembris
all but the M. p. were released. We
broke camp at 0130 and headed for
Los Angeles. Sunrise occurred at approx.
5:00 A.M. in Bishop, and we were home
by 9:00 A.M.
That evening Darcey, John, "Barron",
and I left L.A. on our drive to Texas.
