Hafner, m.s. 1974 Journal 12 june - 4 km.. NE Larkin Lake , Alkali Valley, 2081m, Mineral Co., Nevada john Hafner and J (and "Barron") left los angeles at noon today and arrived at LeeVining at 6:7pm. after a very hot trip up U.S. 395. We reached the trapping site by 7:15 pm and immediately set out 168 traps as per the following diagram: high-power lines Dirt ROAD N 25- 40 Sherman live 25- 13 m-Niel type live traps traps 25- 40 (artemesia (tridentata) and Chrysothamnus association) Traps were placed at a distance of approx. 3 meters and baited with wild-bird seed. During the setting of traps, we were constantly bothered by numerous small Diptera's buzzing around our heads and inflicting many small bites. Several Nighthawks were observed Very gentle breeze becoming quite cold at night. 13 june - 4 Km. NE- Larkin Lake, Alkali Valley, 2081m, Mineral Co., Nevada. Very little sleep during night due to cold. 7:00 Am. Checked Traps with results as follows:
