Wagner, m.s. 1974 Journal 18 April - 9.5 mi. N. Johannesburg in "Copper-Colored" hills (Cn't) 1 mi. E of Trona Rd. San Bernardino Co. 3200' The hummingbird's nest contained 2 white eggs. Near this nest (30 meters) was a nest which was approx 6" in diameter, ball shaped, with the entrance at the bottom - no bird was seen near-by. 1600- Began to set traps. At end of one trap line sighted another nest - bird type to be determined Tomorrow. 4 nestlings in nest. Set traps in several directions from camp (over low hills and up sandy ravines) 19 April - 9.5 mi. N. Johannesburg in "Copper-Colored" hills 1 mi. E of Trona Rd, San Bernardino Co. 3200' moderate wind all night, high(day) 70°F, low 42°F 0730- Checked traps with following results: 100 snap - (in brushy ravine) 6 Peromyscus 60 live ->(in brushy, light substrate) ↓ 5 - Perog. long. 30 (in red, hilly area) 9 Pery. formosus 1 Peromyscus Success: 13% over
