Hofner, M.S. 1974 Journal 17 Apr. 9.5 mi. N. Johannesburg, 2 mi. E of Trona Rd, (cont) (a new camp) San Bernardino Co. 3200' (alt.) Very strong wind, we established camp. 1700- set out 126 snap and 81 live traps as per map: 50 snap North 30 live 30 live camp 32 snap. 32 snap 21 live Traps were set approx. 5 meters apart. 1930- Upon returning to camp, I noted a sidewinder rattlesnake (8" long) from camp in a large cactus directly beneath Joshua tree - I captured it in the lizard snare and moved it 10 meters away to avoid future encounters. The wind continued all night, no moon. High 65° F., low 40+° F. 18 Apr. - 9.5 mi. N. Johannesburg, 7 mi E of Trona Rd. (a new camp) San Bernardino Co. 3200' (alt.) 0730 Checked traps with following results-
