Hofner, m.s. 1974 Journal 18 Feb - 9 mi. NE of Johannesburg, in canyon 10 mi N of Cutteback Lake, S. Bernardino Co. 3200' Eley. (see 27 Sept 1974 for better locality description) The wind died down during the night. 8:30 Am - checked traps with following results: 20 - Perognathus formosus 3 - Dipodomys merriami Success 23/85 = 27% We hiked around until about noon, at which time we headed for home. I brought back 13 D. merriami for my own studies, 1 Ammo. Spenuus, 4 D. panamintinus; and 10 P. long. for other students' projects. The morning after returning home (Tues. morning, 19 Feb.) one Dipodomys panamintinus gave birth; unknown as of yet number of young. (4) 5 April - 9 mi. N. of Johannesburg off Throne Rd. (Campsite #1) 3200' S. Bernardino Co. Calif. Darcy and I met Paul Rubin and his girlfriend Jewel, at camp and we proceeded to set 120 snap and 73 live traps across road to East of Camp.
