Hafner, W.S. 1974 Journal 16 FEB. - 9.5 mi. NNE of Johannesburg to Trona Rd. (Campsite #1) 3200' S.Bernardino Co. Calif. Last night Darcy "Barron" and I set out 83 live traps and 10 snap traps. (Live traps on E. side of Trona Rd. and snap traps near camp) Occasional gusty winds throughout the night; 1/4 moon rose about 2 AM; low temp approx 27-30° F. 9:00 AM - checked traps with following results; 18 Perognathus longimembris 3 P. formosus 9 D. merriami (6 were sub ad or jw.) 7 D. pamamininus 3 Peromyscus maniculatus 1 Onychomys torridus - (snap trap) & Success = 41/83 = 50% All traps with no catches were left in the field to catch Ammospermophilus. 2:00 PM. David and Diane met us at camp and we immediately put up some skins. As we were leaving this camp we checked the remaining traps: 1 Ammospermophilus leucurus & We drove to a point approx. 3-4 miles N of Johannesburg and turned East of
