Hafner, ms. 1973-4 27 Dec. JuJunga Canyon - along JuJunga Canyon Rd., 3-10 mi NE of SunValley, 1.3 to 10 mi. E of intersection w/ Mt Gleason Blvd. LA County, Calif: 2000-2500' 10:00 - Set traps at various localities along road (JuJunga Canyon Rd.) - the 1st set approx. 1.5 miles from Mt. Gleason Blvd and the last on the Angeles Crest Highway about 2 miles from intersection with JuJunga Canyon Rd. (Eastward). Ten live traps at first 5 stations and two live traps at last. Cold nights, cool days; high 60 - low 45. little moon. slight breeze. 28 Dec. -9:00 AM Checked traps with following results: Set #1 - (across river from road, 1.5 miles E of Mt Gleason Blvd.) no catches. Set #2 - (wide spot past bridge on left of Rd. approx. 3 miles from Mt Gleason Blvd.) 1 Neotoma fuscipes and 1 Peromyscus (californicus) ? Set #3 - (small wooded canyon around bend from ranger station 4.7 miles from Mt Gleason Blvd.) no catches. Set #4 (near tree plantation on hill to right of road past big bridge 1/4 mi.; near road marker "7.43" 3 Dipodomys agilis and 1 Peromyscus truei. Set #5 (right side of road near marker "7.79 in small brushy canyon) 3 Peromyscus sp. Set #6 (in canyon to right of road, approx. 2 mi.
