Johannesburg, off Johannesburg Rd., San Bernardino Co., 3200' Calif. 8:30 PM. - Met McNeil and set traps near camp (50) and across Johannesburg 63-24 Rd. as before (see 14 out 73) 50 traps Very cold and windy (approx. 32°F) no moon, clear. 24 Nov - "Campsite #1," 9.5 Trona 7 mi. N. Johannesburg, off Johannesburg Rd., San Bernardino Co., 3200' 9:30 AM - Very cold morning - upper surface of soil frozen. Checked traps with following results: 12 Dipodomys merriami 14 Dipodomys panamintinus 10 Perognathus longimembris 2 Perognathus formosus 2 Peromyscus maniculatus 1 Ammospermophilus leucurus trapping success: 4/113 = 35% Occasional sunshine through day - temp. varied from 40°F in shade to 57°F in direct sun. 5:00 PM - Heavy rain lasted for 1½ hours.
