Gullion 1949 Clethrionomys californicus -1- Aug 24 French Camp, 3100 ft., Humboldt Co., Calif. - I taken under an Incense Cedar on edge of barren opening in Incense Cedar-Douglas Fir Open Forest-(see Journal p. 1424/46). Moss on the ground, very dark, branches of cedar and firs 3's or nearly touching? to ground. Leaves of nearby Black Oak added to the fir and cedar leaf litter on the ground
